TRAVEL TIPS

Air Travel

From the United States, all the islands are served with direct scheduled flights out of Fort Lauderdale; Bimini through SkyBahamas, and Silver Airways which code-shares with United Airlines and JetBlue. Great Harbour Cay is served from Fort Lauderdale by Watermakers Air and Tropic Ocean Airways, and Watermakers also flies to three Andros airports four days a week. For convenience and timing, groups flying in from south Florida should consider chartering a private plane. From Nassau, you can reach Bimini via SkyBahamas, and fly to Great Harbour Cay and four Andros airports via LeAir, Western Air, Glen Air, and Flamingo Air. Choose your Andros airport carefully or you could face a costly taxi ride. Note that you can't drive from North/Central Andros to South Andros or Mangrove Cay: you have to fly back to Nassau. For ultimate fun, charter a private jet, seaplane, or helicopter from Nassau or Florida. Safari Seaplanes flies from Nassau airport, while Miami Seaplane flies from Key Biscayne.
