10 Day Swiss Exclusive

Blessed with some of the world’s most beautiful landscapes and an appreciation for life’s finer things, Switzerland is the perfect destination for the sophisticated traveler with a passion for the outdoors. The ideal mix of high-altitude thrills, Old World walking tours, edible delights, and luxurious accents, this trip delivers the full spectrum of Switzerland in style.

We begin in cosmopolitan Geneva, where the world comes to work and play. After getting settled, you’ll embark on a private half-day walking tour of the city that will introduce you to its must-see sights – the enormous Jet d’Eau fountain, the cobblestone avenues of the Old Town, and sparkling Lake Leman to name a few – en route to a selection of the city’s finest cheese boutiques and chocolatiers. The complete Swiss experience continues a private tour of the Patek Philippe Museum, home to the world’s finest collection of precision timepieces.

Next, head north to Bern, the cozy Swiss capital. After a private half-day tour through the UNESCO-protected city center and its landmark Zytglogge clock tower, head into the hills of the pastoral Emmental on a private drive, stopping along the Emmental Cheese Route to watch experts craft some of the world’s finest cheeses.

Between the pristine Thun and Brienz lakes like Interlaken, your next stop. Here, you’ll get a unique glimpse of this charming spot courtesy of a private horse-drawn carriage ride, followed by a magical journey up to the mighty Jungfraujoch. Drink in a breathtaking panorama of some of the most stunning peaks in the Swiss Alps while exploring ‘The Top of Europe’.

When most people think of Switzerland, they think of Lucerne, a storybook city nestled amid the mountains on the shore of a glittering lake. Against this none-more-Swiss backdrop, you’ll explore the cobblestone streets and covered bridges of the medieval old town on foot with a private guide, sample delicious chocolates via a tasting session at the acclaimed Max Chocolatier, cruise Lake Lucerne, ascend to the summit of Mount Pilatus by cogwheel train, and explore the gorgeous countryside and quaint alpine villages of the Bernese Oberland with a private guide and driver.

Last stop: sophisticated Zürich. Get to know Europe’s financial center a little better through a half-day walking tour with a private guide, winding your way through the bustling banking district, the historic Old Town, and the chic Bahnhofstrasse en route to the Fraumünster, home of Marc Chagall’s beloved stained-glass windows.

Bern

The superb city of medieval magic is the capital of Switzerland. Home of the many embassies, international organisations, the seat of Federal Government and Federal Congress, Berne also has a definite artistic side. Explore the magnificent museums filled with art treasures; enjoy the famous Berne Symphony Orchestra or visit the cosy, historical basement pubs, Kellerlokale.

First founded in 1191 and nearly destroyed in its entirety in 1405 when the great fire razed the wooden built town, the city of Berne is today constructed in hardier sandstone and stands as an unchanged paeon of carefully conserved medieval architecture.

Berne is in itself a living museum, the craftsmanship of which is emphasised in her artisans like the stone masons who still ply their trade in the open for all to see. Each one of the city’s 13 magnificent museums yields an adventure into artistic and cultural endeavour without peer. From the largest Paul Klee collection in the world at the Kunstmuseum to literature through the ages at the Stadtbibliothek to the special experience that is the Symphony Orchestra performing in the
superb Gothic cathedral whose 254 steps take the intrepid visitor to the top of the highest church tower in Switzerland, Berne is a magical voyage of discovery.

Set within the medieval atmosphere is the largest and most modern sheltered shopping centre in Europe. The 6 kms of arcaded passageways direct the visitor to a network of exclusive boutiques and stores, and the quaint old-town shops.
Top off an enchanting day with a visit to one of Berne’s historical Kellerlokale or a good cabaret show and dancing.
